You will be allocated a Gorilla family to track and guides to lead you to the Gorillas. The tracking will be a 2-5 hour exercise after which you will be returned to the lodge for lunch. You will later in the afternoon be transferred to the far south of Bwindi – in Rushaga region. This is the biggest region with the highest number of gorilla families and the only place where gorilla habituation can be done. You will return to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Rushaga Gorilla Trekking & Transfer to Nkuringo
Gorilla tracking in Rushaga sector begins in the morning where the trackers assemble at the park headquarters for briefing ahead of the trek. Pre-trek briefing goes for about 30 minutes and by 8:00am, the actual trekking begins. Gorilla trek requires some average level of physical and health fitness since its quite challenging characterized by hiking in the steep jungles, valleys and lush vegetation.
The duration of tracking could be 2 hours, 4 hours or a day since it is dependent on the location of the mountain gorillas and their daily movements. Ensure you have adequate drinking water, insect repellants, rain jackets, water proof cameras, packed lunch and any other equipment that you may be advised to have. This is an amazing adventure, as you trek through the forests and listen to the beautiful sound of birds, monkeys, and other forest animals, something memorable! Return to the lodge just in time to transfer to the far south of Bwindi, in Nkuringo region.
Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Nkuringo & Evening Batwa Community Walk

The trek can take between 1-8 hours depending on the season and movement of gorillas. In the evening, move to the nearby Batwa communities for a sunset performance presented by the Batwa people; these are people who are historically known as the people of the forest as they inhabited the interior jungles of Bwindi, together with other primates, birds and gorillas themselves.
