Uganda Luxury Safari & Vacation Getaway Overview

This 7 days Uganda luxury safari safari & vacation getaway requires you to already be in Kigali in Rwanda.

The guide will pick you up very early in the morning and transfer you to Queen Elizabeth National Park through the Ntungamo – Mirama Hills border.

This drive takes about 6 – 7 hours with one stopover for lunch. The package has options for budget, mid-range and luxury settings that you can request for at the time of booking.

Day 1: Pick up and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Depending on your location in Kigali – Rwanda, a tour guide from our tours and travel company will pick you up and transfer you to Queen Elizabeth National Park in Uganda.

Boasting with a high diversity, Queen Elizabeth National Park is Uganda’s most popular national park. Its a haven for lions, elephants, buffaloes and many more mammals.

As you drive to this park, you will have your lunch on the way, explore Uganda’s countryside and after climax your drive to the park.

Day 2: Game Viewing & Boat Cruise

This day begins with a cup of coffee as you get ready for your morning game viewing drive. You will go on various trails while on your game drive including the Kasenyi trail, the best area for wildlife viewing in this park.

You will see animals like kobs, water bucks, lions, buffaloes, elephants along with several other species of mammals and birds.

After this game drive, you shall return to your lodge for a full breakfast meal, relax and after had for a relaxing afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel.

On this boat cruise, you will see several animals hydrating at the banks of the lake then hippopotamuses, crocodiles and more aquatic animals. After this boat ride, you shall return to the lodge for dinner and relaxation.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

Wake up to an early morning breakfast and carry out another game drive to places you did not visit the previous day.

After this game viewing drive, you shall return to your lodge to freshen up and relax. After lunch, you will set off driving towards Kibale Forest National Park in fort portal.

When you reach the park, you will proceed to your lodge to relax as you get ready for your chimpanzee trekking expedition the following day.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking & Bigodi Swamp Walk

Have breakfast and drive to the park headquarters for a short briefing before make your way into the forests for chimpanzee trekking.

Chimpanzee trekking is an awesome experience. Kibale Forest is apparently the best place in the world to see chimpanzees. These primates are man’s closest cousins as they share over 98.7% DNA as we humans.

They act exactly like us and feel the same way. They are quite playful and will often get close to bond with you. They are harmless so you should not get scared. Instead, they love bonding and making friends with humans that visit them.

After your morning Chimpanzee trekking experience, you will return to the lodge, freshen up and wait for lunch. After lunch, you will head for a swamp walk at Bigodi, a great paradise for birders. Here you will see lots of birds and a few forest animals as well on a lucky day.

Retreat from this activity and drive back to your lodge to relax.

Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Wake up to an early morning breakfast meal and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest shelters over half the remaining population of mountain gorillas and is apparently the best place to see gorillas in the world.

This is an all day drive with a few stops along the way. When you reach Bwindi, you will check in to your lodge and relax as you get set for your mountain gorilla trekking adventure the following day.

Overnight at Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge (Luxury) and Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge (Mid-Range and Budget).

Day 6: Uganda gorilla trekking experience

This day is the highlight of this 7 days Uganda safari from Kigali. You will wake up to an early morning breakfast meal and head to the park headquarters after for a short briefing session before making your way into the forest to search for mountain gorillas in their natural habitat.

Uganda gorilla trekking may last for 2 to 8 hours depending on how long you take to locate the gorillas.

This however, has been simplified nowadays as the park rangers move ahead and locate the gorillas before then guide you to the right trail so that you do not spend a lot of time searching for gorillas.

When you meet gorillas, you will be allowed to spend an hour around them while maintain a 6 – 8 meter distance.

During this magical hour, you may take as many photos as you can, videos if possible and see the true beauty of gorillas.

After here, you will return to your starting to pick your respective gorilla trekking certificates and drive off to your lodge for an overnight.

Day 7: Transfer to Kigali & Departure

Being the last day of your safari, you will spend your morning relaxing at the lodge. After lunch, you will then drive off to Kigali where you will get dropped at an accommodation facility of your choice or perhaps at the airport for departure.

This will mark the end of your 7 days Uganda gorilla safari from Kigali in Rwanda.
