Detailed 3-Day 2 Gorilla Treks Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi in Uganda
After having breakfast at your place of stay on the first day or upon arrival at the airport in Kigali, a tour guide from our gorilla tour company will pick you up. They will introduce you to Rwanda through a short briefing meeting and take you on a city tour in Kigali, known as Africa’s cleanest city.
During this tour, you will visit places like the Gisozi Genocide Monument, Kimironko Market, Caplaki Crafts Village, and the historical Hotel Rwanda, along with a few more places.
Afterward, proceed with your drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a four to five-hour drive. Upon reaching Bwindi, check into your lodge and relax as you prepare for your first Uganda gorilla trekking encounter the next day.
Day 2: First Encounter with Bwindi Mountain Gorillas (Nkuringo Sector)
Wake up to an early morning breakfast and enjoy the excellent views of the Nkuringo sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. After breakfast, our tour guide will pick you up and transfer you to the starting point for briefing.
During this meeting, you will be allocated random gorilla groups to trek and briefed on the dos and don’ts of mountain gorilla trekking.
After the briefing, take your respective trails into the impenetrable forests of Bwindi in search of mountain gorillas.
Upon locating these gentle primates, you will be allowed to spend an hour with them before returning to your starting point to collect your respective gorilla trekking certificates.
Next, proceed with your drive to the Rushaga sector (Southern Sector) of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for your second gorilla encounter.
Day 3: Second Gorilla Encounter and Departure
On this final day of your 3-day double gorilla tour in Uganda from Kigali, follow the same routine as the previous day, but expect to meet new rangers and wardens since it’s a different sector.
After your second and final gorilla encounter, you will be picked up and transferred to Kigali city in Rwanda, marking the end of your 3-Day Bwindi Double Gorilla Trekking Tour.
