Are you freaked from the eight to ten hours drive from Entebbe to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in South Western Uganda? This 2 days Bwindi from Kigali package is not only affordable but also saves you lots of driving time. You will only spend 4 to 5 hours on road. The time could have been less if it wasn’t for Rwanda’s 40km per hour – 60 km per hours speed limit. Please see the detailed day by day Uganda tour itinerary for this 2 day gorilla trekking safari below.
Day One: Arrival & Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
In the morning of this first day of your 2 days Uganda gorilla safari from Kigali, a company guide from our Uganda tours and travel company will pick you up from the airport or your hotel in Kigali, head to visit the Gisozi Genocide Memorial Monument depending on your time of arrival, have lunch if necessary, visit a few more places within the city and climax your drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. When you arrive at the park, you will check in to your lodge and relax as you get ready for your Uganda gorilla trekking encounter the following day. Dinner and overnight at Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge.
Day Two: Gorilla Trekking & Departure
Wake up to an early morning breakfast in the misty Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Bwindi shelters over half the remaining population of mountain gorillas in the world. When you wake up, you will feel like you are around gorillas! You’ll definitely feel home.
After your breakfast, you will drive to your starting place where you will have a short briefing meeting from the park wardens. During this meeting, they will inform you of the rules and regulations, dos and dont’s of mountain gorilla trekking and as well as give you a few tips. It is also from this meeting that you will be assigned to mountain gorilla families randomly. After the briefing, you will take your trail to go and see your particular mountain gorilla family. The trek lasts from two to eight hours inclusive of a full hour encounter with these gorillas.
After meeting Uganda gorillas, you will then trek back to your starting point, pick your respective gorilla trekking certificates, drive back to your lodge for lunch and proceed with your drive to Kigali in Rwanda. You will spend another four to five hours on road as you drive back to Kigali where you will choose to get dropped at the airport or any accommodation of your choice within Kigali.
