Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast at your place of accommodation or upon pickup from Kigali airport on the first day of your 5 Days Uganda Tour, embark on the journey towards the north of Rwanda heading for Bwindi National Park in the southwest of Uganda.

It is a journey of about 5 hours’ drive, traversing through the undulating hill slopes of Musanze, crossing via the Katuna border.

Continue driving to Kabale town for lunch as you proceed to Uganda’s most famous park and home to 50% of the world’s total population of mountain gorillas – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Check into the lodge for relaxation ahead of the big adventure that awaits the following morning.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

With an early breakfast on the second day of your 5 Days Uganda Tour, depart the lodge at 7:30 am and head for a briefing at the visitor information center in Rushaga sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

The briefing session is to enlighten visitors on the necessary precautions to consider while encountering the giant mountain gorillas during their trekking activity.

Carry packed lunch and bottled water along since the adventure may take 3-8 hours depending on where the mobile gorilla family allocated is sighted.

Occasional breaks will be made to help catch your breath, take some water, and have some soft snacks to recoup your energy. After tracking, return to the starting point, link up with your driver guide who will drive you back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast on the third day of your 5 Days Uganda Tour, depart Bwindi National Park for Kibale Forest National Park. Kibale is the primate capital of Africa and home to over 13 primate species. Pass via Kabale – Ntungamo and branch off past Kasese town, with great views of the towering Rwenzori ranges.

Soon you’ll be in Fort Portal, Uganda’s renowned tourism city, have lunch and, if there’s time, take a short town tour, explore the local market, or visit the crater lakes in the outskirts of Fort Portal town. Arrive at your lodge for an overnight stay and dinner.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking & Bigodi Swamp Walk

On the fourth day of your 5-day Uganda primates safari, trek chimpanzees; another exciting and easier adventure. Breakfast at 7:00 am and depart to the park headquarters where you will be briefed on safety precautions and tracking etiquette.

Then head to the starting point to begin your chimpanzee trek in the forest. After this phenomenal primate experience, return to your vehicle at the starting point, returning to the lodge for lunch or have a picnic lunch.

Take an afternoon swamp walk in Bigodi Swamp Sanctuary to sight some birds and other primates. Famous birds in this swamp include the Great Blue Turaco and Papyrus Gonolek that can easily be sighted among the other 137 species. There is also a wide array of butterflies, flowers, and insects. Later return for dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 5: Transfer to Kigali

Depart from Kibale National Park with memories of your encounter with the chimpanzees and drive past Fort Portal heading for Kigali. Have a lunch stopover along the way, either in Kabale or Ntungamo.

Then, you will be dropped off at a hotel of your choice in Kigali or at the airport in the evening to catch your departure flight, marking the end of your 5-day tour in Uganda.
