Detailed 4-Day Bwindi Gorillas & Lake Bunyonyi Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After having your early morning breakfast at your hotel in Kigali, Rwanda, a tour guide from our Uganda gorilla trekking company will pick you up and take you on an exciting Kigali City tour.
During this 4-Day Uganda Tour from Kigali, you will visit many interesting places around Kigali before driving to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for an overnight stay.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience
Wake up to an early morning breakfast at your lodge and transfer to the starting point of your Bwindi gorilla trekking experience.
At the starting point, you will be briefed by park rangers and wardens on what to expect, what to do, and what not to do. You will also receive extra tips for gorilla trekking in Bwindi forest.
It is also during this briefing that you will be assigned to random gorilla groups based on factors like age, fitness level, and more. Older and less fit individuals usually get easier groups to track. However, you can never predict what you’ll encounter in the wild.
You may find a moderate group and locate them in less than 3 hours. When you meet the gorillas, you will spend an hour with them before returning to your starting point to collect your respective gorilla trekking certificates and then return to your lodge for relaxation.
Day 3: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
This day, you will go for a morning nature walk in Bwindi before transferring to Lake Bunyonyi in the afternoon. Lake Bunyonyi is located in Kabale and stands out as one of the most beautiful lakes in the world.
It boasts over 25 islands, each with its own unique history. You will enjoy an afternoon canoe ride on the lake, visiting various islands including the famous Punishment Island. After this boat ride, you will return to your lodge to relax.
Day 4: Lake Bunyonyi & Transfer to Kigali
Spend your morning relaxing at Lake Bunyonyi. There are several optional activities you can choose from on this day. Some of them include visiting the Abaheesi Communities, The Batwa, cycling, and birdwatching. You can choose any of these activities and pay for them separately as they are not included in the final package price.
Transfer back to Kigali where you will be dropped off at your preferred accommodation or at Kigali International Airport to catch your flight back home.
