Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and Transfer to Bwindi, Uganda
After breakfast, your guide will pick you up from your hotel for a city tour of Kigali before transferring you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in southwestern Uganda.
The tour includes stops at Kimironko Market, Caplaki Craft Village, and the Kigali Genocide Memorial.
After lunch, begin the 4 to 5 hour drive to Bwindi, widely regarded as the best place in the world for mountain gorilla trekking. On arrival, check in at Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge and rest ahead of your trek the next day. Dinner and overnight stay at Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge.
Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Have an early breakfast in Bwindi, then head to the trailhead for the roughly 30-minute briefing, covering what to expect and the guidelines for gorilla trekking in Uganda.
After the briefing, follow your trail to find the gorillas. Rangers typically locate the family in advance and guide your group along the most direct route, cutting down search time.
Once you find your assigned gorilla family, spend an hour observing them before returning to the starting point to collect your gorilla trekking certificate. Day 3: Transfer to Kigali and Departure
