Detailed 3-Day Bwindi and Lake Bunyonyi Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Pickup and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Your guide will pick you up from your location in Kigali for a city tour, including the Genocide Memorial, Caplaki Craft Village, and Kimironko Market, before transferring you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in southwestern Uganda.
The drive takes about 4 to 5 hours, including a brief stop and border clearance. On arrival at Bwindi, continue to your lodge for an overnight stay.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After breakfast at your lodge, drive to the trailhead for the pre-trek briefing, covering the guidelines to follow while trekking, including keeping a safe distance from the gorillas.
After the briefing, your group leader will guide you to your assigned gorilla family. Trekking time runs 2 to 8 hours, including a full hour spent with the gorillas.
Maintain an 8-meter distance from the gorillas throughout, and avoid flash photography, which can startle them.
