Detailed 5-Day Kenya Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Pick-up from Nairobi and transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve

Depending on your location in Nairobi city, you will meet our driver guide who will brief you about the safari. You will then embark on the 5 to 6-hour drive journey to Masai Mara National Park.

The journey involves a stopover at the Great Rift Valley for scenic views of the landscape and memorable pictures. Check into the lodge of your choice and have a lip-smacking lunch as you relax.

Embark on the afternoon game drive which starts at 3:30 pm to see some of the wild animals.

Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Full day in Masai Mara National Reserve

The day is dedicated to the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Wake up early for a morning game drive at about 6:30 am to see animals emerging from their nests.

It is an opportunity to see several bird species, some of which are endemic to the area. The park is home to lions, cheetahs, elephants, zebras, buffaloes, giraffes, hippopotamuses, etc.

Return to your lodge for a late breakfast and relax until lunch.

After lunch, embark on the afternoon game drive to catch what you might have missed during the morning session.

Return to the lodge later in the day for relaxation, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, check out of the lodge and enjoy an en-route game drive as you head to Lake Nakuru National Park – home of the flamingo birds.

Upon arrival, check into the lodge of your choice and enjoy a relaxed lunch.

In the afternoon, go for another game drive and enjoy animal views and a beautiful sunset experience.

Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Full Day in Lake Nakuru National Park

Another wonderful day in Kenya’s wilderness begins with a morning breakfast followed by a game drive and a boat cruise on Lake Nakuru in the afternoon.

Lake Nakuru National Park is not only a UNESCO World Heritage site but also a Bird & Rhino sanctuary where you will enjoy views of animals such as lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants, antelopes, zebras, etc.

After the evening boat cruise, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Transfer to Nairobi – Departure

Wake up early (at 6:30 am) for your last morning game drive, an opportunity to see early risers that you might have missed on other days. Return to your lodge for a late morning breakfast.

Check out of the lodge and drive to Nairobi with a stopover at the Rift Valley escarpment for another spectacular experience.

Continue to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight back home, marking the end of this 5-day Kenya camping safari to Maasai Mara National Reserve & Lake Nakuru National Park.
