Day 1: Pick up from Kigali, Rwanda, and Transfer to Kahuzi-Biega National Park
You will be picked up from Kigali, Rwanda for your 3-Day Congo Lowland Gorilla Trekking Tour in Kahuzi-Biega National Park, either at the airport or hotel at the agreed-upon time. You will receive a short briefing covering various aspects such as the weather in DR Congo, dos and don’ts while in these two countries, and safety precautions.
Transfer to D.R. Congo for the next day’s adventure of lowland gorilla trekking. The road trip will take about 5 to 6 hours, including the time spent at the border for checking and acquiring a travel visa. Check into your accommodation facility in the evening.
Day 2: Eastern lowland gorilla trekking
Head to the park offices in Kahuzi-Biega National Park for a briefing, verification of gorilla permits, assignment to a trekking group, and booking of a park ranger to guide you through the forest, among other preparations.
You will learn about the rules and regulations to follow while in the forest during the search, which will serve as guiding principles. Begin the search with the assistance of the well-armed park ranger guide and encounter a gorilla family.
